A SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES MARKS THE OBSERVANCE HELD FROM APRIL 4 TO 8.
Saint Lucia commemorates National Library Week 2022, under the theme "Connect with Your Library." National Library Week is observed annually in the first week of April and celebrates the nation's libraries, the contributions of library workers, and ultimately seeks to promote library use and support.

The official opening ceremony was held at the Central Library in Castries in collaboration with the Hunter J. Francois Library at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. A special tribute was made to Mr. Hunter J. Francois who served as the Minister for Education from 1964 to 1974, and was instrumental in the establishment of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. The Hunter J. François Library at the college is named in his honor, his family was present to receive the token.

There are several activities planned to observe the week. April 5 marks National Library Workers Day, which honors the contributions of library workers. Outreach events will be held on April 6, which includes a registration drive and an interactive reading session. On April 7, a report will be compiled that will provide an update on the status of libraries in Saint Lucia, and an Author's Exhibition will be held on April 8.

The public is encouraged to visit their respective community libraries and make use of the resources available.
