THIS YEAR'S THEME IS TACKLING PLASTIC POLLUTION.

Today, Saint Lucia joins more than 200 countries around the world in the celebration of World Consumer Rights Day. This year’s theme ‘Tackling Plastic Pollution’ is of significant concern as the flow of plastics into our environment has reached crisis proportions and the evidence is most clearly on display in our rivers, oceans, landfills and waterways.

While the world has derived great benefit from the use of plastics, which have transformed our everyday lives, the negative environmental effects and adverse impact on health from their misuse and overuse cannot be overlooked.

The time has come for us to make more sustainable choices. Every single one of us must be part of the solution. Let us come together to tackle plastic pollution.

Happy World Consumer Rights Day!!!
